SLC Car Show 2010

This year has a good start so far, I'm 28 I went to a car show last weekend, and love life. I'm not even a big car person normally. However in the past few years I've been to a few of these shows, and I have to say, that they are growing on me, and I might just have to get myself one of these gorgeous cars one day. Perhaps for my mid-life crisis! HA HA!

Preferably I would love to get an older restored car, though I'm not sure if I would want to restore it myself, or just buy it that way, but the older car definately have more class, and get more respect. Too bad not all old people get the same, however if they looked like this I think they would!
What better way to spoil your piece of cold steel than to ACCESSORIZE! The lighting effect was totally natural..... well not totally;) but it wasn't photoshopped......... much.

Delila and I would like to wish all of our friends and family a very Merry Christmas. Delila is now Two and a half, I am 28, or 27. This will be the first year we will be spending Christmas at our very own home, and not and any in-laws:) Hope little Miss D likes her presents.

My Father in-law flew out this last weekend to visit our family. I'm big into Astronomy and getting into Photography, he is very much into photography, so Saturday Night we busted out my telescope, for my birthday I recieved a t-mount from my brothers, it's a piece of metal used to attach a camera to a telescope. Here's my favorite photo's from that night. The third photo was taken a few weeks before, it's a bit grainy due to my ISO being set too high.

The one below is by far my favorite Photo, I have this as my desktop wallpaper.

This is the grainy photo, you can't really notice the graininess unless you enlarge it, but it still looks great. Enjoy!!!

New Camera!!! I originally bought the camera for a Birthday/Christmas present, so I could photograph the night sky. But I think I'll use it for everyday use as well. Well my Friend Joel and I woke up at 3:00 am Saturday the 30th to hike timp. We intended to reach the summit by sunrise, however it didn't work out as planned. I still like how the photos turned out. It was breathtaking!!!

On Wednesday Katie and I left the Temple around 8:00 pm after doing sealings. We left with this site on the horizon, all I had was my Camera phone, not too great, but it had the desired effect. The first photo is without anything changed, the second is Photoshopped, I tried to saturated the blue and orange to give a little more to the photo. Hopefully it worked:)

Coolant Failure

A few weeks ago, my Coolant light came on, not knowing the severity of the problem, I kept driving home. That night I bought more coolant and put it in the car. The next day on the way to work, the light came on again, now I was worried, so once I got to work I checked the radiator, and sure enough there was a leak. I huge crack.

So I decided to Google Radiators. By accident, I ended up chatting online with Radiator.com. they said thay had my part, mentioned they could get it to me in a few hrs, and qouted me a price. I had no intention of doing something this extensive job on my own, but figured I'd save at least $100 doing it this way. So I took the following day off from work, and went home, the whole time with the coolant light on.

After arriving home and seeing the Radiator waiting for me I decided to begin the task at hand. It took me about two hrs to complete the job, the entire time Katie bored out of her mind watching me, with Delila curious yet bored as well. Finishing, I refilled the radiator with coolant, and called it a night. The day I took off, turned into a day to help my wife with girls camp, Oh joy.

Despite what they said, it was much harder than changing a tire.

Excited For The Subway

A few years ago, my family and I hiked the Subway. No not Subway Sandwich, or the Subway in Newyork. The Subway I speak of is a hike in Zions National Park, to do this particular hike, you need permits, the weather has to be favorable, and you need to be able to get wet, and not freak. A few things to remember while hiking this trail, are:

One-Myths: You do not need Rappeling gear, there is a cliff, but a side trail exists that allows you to avoid the cliff all together (We brought some gear, and while is was used on the cliff I felt bad for the person who had to carry it).

Two-Footwear: Wear shoes that are either meant to hike in water or shoes that don't have any special place in your heart (Teva, or Keens are my desired choice, though anything will work).

Three-Hydration: If at all possible bring a water filter, 9 miles hiking through desert and water can make anyone thirsty, and trust me when I say, you'll have plenty of water on the hike to filter (The particular water filter I own is a little more expensive than most but well worth the money it has a ceramic filter, and has a terricfic life span http://www.rei.com/product/695265).

Four-Apparal: Try to wear shorts that dry easily and are light, ie board shorts. Glasses and hats are preferrable but not needed (I also like to pack a pair of goggles, if you drop something in the water it's nice to find it again:) that really happened, and I used them).

Finally do not think that a 9 mile hike down hill is easy, this hike can kill you if you're not careful. There's reasons why permits are required for this hike, Just don't be stupid. Oh and one more thing, if you can, bring a digital camera, last time I did, and I've never regreted it. Use a ziploc to protect it from water.

Harlick Logo

My In laws are amazing people, so I decided to say thank you by making this cool updated logo for their company. Since my understanding is limited with the programs to make such a Logo. I acquired the help from my Father who is a genius at the programs. He helped me learn more about 3-D modeling and Animation, hopefully I can take what I've learned and grow from there.

I have decided to take play time to the next level with Delila! Every 5 month old needs to learn a thing or two about playing the 360. So i took it upon myself to teach Delila how to play. She is learning very well and has nearly mastered the sport. My, how i love my sweet little girl!

HOLY HERNIA!!!!!

Well after 6-7 months I finally decided it was time to get my hernia fixed. It wasn't all that bad, but it did effect me. So I went to my doctor, who charged me a twenty dollar co-pay to have me drop my pants to make sure it was actually a hernia then gave the name of another doctor who would actually do the surgery. After about another month of waiting I met him, and he also made me drop my pants, but this time it cost me thirty dollars. We setup a time for the surgery. Happy Day :) or so I thought, I couldn't eat 12-15 hrs before the surgery, and then instead of 9:00 I had to come in at 12:00, well after three hours and a nurse who took three tries to get the IV in a vain, I finally went in... I woke up at 5:30 - 6:00 wife my beautiful wife, and gorgeous daughter.

The pictures were removed, because too many people mentioned it was disgusting.

The upside is I got off work, and I'm spending a lot of time watching my little girl grow. Plus my wife Katie is being awesome and helping me stand up, getting me food, and taking care of Delila when she's fussy.

I think I love these Pictures so much, because you can actually see our own galaxy.

This I love because it shows the galaxy the way it actually appears, when you're in a really dark sky.

Now I think this goes without saying. A picture with a Galaxy, a sun, and planets rovolving around the sun, how cool is that?

Earth's Natural Satellite

Here is one of the best pictues I've taken of the moon, it's just really clear. Once winter comes I should be able to get some really amazing pictures. Hopefully even some of the planets. I've taken a few pictues of Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus. However till I clean up the images, I'd prefer not to share them with all of you.

This one is a little blurry, but I just liked the dark/light contrast.

This is just a more close picture of the lower right part of the moon, it looks amazing.
